Web Survey Bibliography
This chapter provides background and thoughts on the impact and evolution of data collection technology. It presents factors that should be considered when developing an application and managing a panel of users. The chapter examines preliminary data from the public release of a data collection app. It suggests topics and directions for future research. The authors share the goals, key decision points, findings, and lessons learned associated with the process of getting the app off the ground, from design choice, to operational decision making, to working with internal organizations such as legal departments and institutional review boards (IRBs) to make the app possible. The authors also share some of the results experienced by them since the launch of the SurveyPulse app in October 2012.
